Back in 1904, Second Street was the same as 12th Street today.
Before W. A. Rader built the first bowling alley in Cody, no license was required. It took only two months for the Cody City Council to draft an ordinance taxing bowling as a business venture not to exceed $5 per quarter (per lane). The alley was moved (perhaps in 1905) before Fred and Jim Worst purchased the lane on Sheridan Avenue. Currently at this location is the U.S. Bank branch. |
